Attendance and
promptness
are important for your
child’s success. Coming
in late is disruptive to the class and starts
your child's day off in less than an ideal way. Try to schedule
appointments in the afternoon or after school. I look forward
to a fabulus year!
Beginning each
day prepared to learn and meet the
adventure of learning is
important. Children need to pack at night to be sure to have homework
and supplies.
Correcting
papers of C or less during the first trimester, helps students be
successful. After that papers may not be resubitted for an improved for
a grade, but discussing with a parent will be beneficial. I think
offerring redoing for a better grade, could promote students not doing
their best the first time. Tests may not be redone at any time.
Discipline – I work hard to
make the classroom a positive
and safe place for
all.
Rules discussed the first week of school and reviewed periodically are
designed
to make a good learning environment in which respecting others,
yourself and
property are the underlying themes. I believe in lots of rewards for
good
behavior for individuals and as a group. Firm but fair describes my
approach if
the situation calls for consequences.
My Expectations
for academic growth and good behavior are high..
Field
Trips – We will be
going on two field trips this year. We like having parents
help with
these
trips.
G
is
for the Good times we will have learning all year!
The Homework
assignments
will be short or long
term. Plenty of notice will be given for
longer
assignments. Doing homework on time is one
of the keys of
success. Because
third grade
is a primary grade your child will continue to need your guidance.
Third graders
will have thirty minutes of homework.
It is Important
to follow all the procedures of the school for administering
medication,
checking your child in or out of the office. If
your third grader is going home with a
friend or someone
else, please
write me a note. Your child’s safety is paramount.
Be
sure to Join us for the fun events
planned this year. We
will be putting on
two shows and holding an Invention
Convention.
The Keys
to a successful school
year include good
communication between home and
school, a positive attitude, homework turned in on time and good
attendance.
Library
books are due on Monday or the first day of the week. Your child
may renew a
book on Monday.
Money
is difficult for a child to keep track of. Please send money in a
sealed,
labeled envelope.
Our
volunteers in the Nurse’sOffice
are
there to take care of any
emergencies and needed medications. If your child has a fever or has
been sick
the night before, please do not send him/her to school.
Our
Conferences will be
held during October. I look
forward to
meeting
each parent individually. A Form
will be sent to you prior to the conference to help me with planning
for our
time together. Opportunity to grow in faith is a
goal I have for your child and for myself.
Prayer,
the class will have a variety of experience. Remember I need some!
Reading
for facts,
details and
comprehension of longer selections becomes very important in third
grade. Science and social studies reading
and
preparing for tests takes
on a new
dimension. Your child will be asked to do several book reports this
year as well
as keeping RAH (reading at home) log each month.
Recess is important for your
child to interact
with friends, getting fresh aire, playing and having down time.
Please be sure your child dresses for sudden changes in the weather
because we will participate in recess except in inclement weather.
 I
try to be a Super
teacher but I'm only human and make mistakes.
Mistakes help you learn! Science
Bamboozlers is a fun program for
students. One day in April each child brings in an experiment to
demonstrate for the class
Each
child gets a chance to be Top Banana. A
form will be sent home for your
third grader to fill out. When your child’s turn comes, a monkey and a
piece
of construction paper will be sent home. Pictures
can be put on the paper. Send five
of your child’s favorite things with him/her from
1. Book
2. Movie or
CD
3. Toy
4. A
trophy
or something you made
5.
Goals
for
this year and in the future
Your
child is important to me! I will
always treat your child with lots of love, respect and Understanding.
I love parent Volunteers.
If you have some
time to offer, either at school or at home, please sign up at Back to
School
Night! Help is always needed and
appreciated. If you aren’t able to
come for any reason, please give as much notice as possible because
your
attendance is part of my planned itinerary. Please sign in at the
office to get
a nametag.
Have
your child Wear the dress uniform on
Fridays and special days. Please be
sure your third grader dresses for the weather. It changes fast in
Colorado
! It would
help to have
all clothes, backpacks and lunch boxes labeled with your child’s name.
All
aspects of your child’s development are important. Some EXtra
special areas are your
enhancing your child’s
self-esteem, the acquisition of all facts, learning cursive writing and
becoming
better at composition.
Please
remember that You are your youngster’s
first and most important
teacher. No one can influence you
child’s life the way you can!
Z is for Zoom! Sit back
and watch your
child’s skills take off! You will be amazed and surprised at the
changes this
year.
It
Only Takes ONE
ONE song can spark a moment,
ONE flower can wake the dream.
ONE tree can start a forest,
ONE bird can herald the spring.
ONE smile begins a friendship,
ONE handclasp lifts a soul.
ONE star can guide a ship at sea,
ONE word can frame the goal.
ONE vote can change a nation,
ONE sunbeam lights a room.
ONE candle wipes out darkness,
ONE laugh will conquer gloom.
ONE step must start each journey,
ONE word must start each prayer.
ONE hope will raise our spirits,
ONE touch can show you care.
ONE voice can speak with wisdom,
ONE heart can know what's true.
ONE life can make the difference,
You see, it's up to YOU!
