Class Rules

These class rules have been designed to help our classroom run smoothly and effectively. They encourage children to treat others with courtesy and respect. They reinforce our school's mission. I believe these basic rules will allow us to achieve our goals and objectives. When rules are followed, learning takes place.

Below are the rules we will follow. Awards and consequences will be part of my classroom management plan. I’ll tell you more at “Back to School Night”. Parents, please review these rules, as I will in the classroom. The rules spell out the word “Polite!” Thank you in advance for your support.

Patiently raise your hand to speak.

Open your eyes and ears.

Let your classmates listen and learn.
In our seats we will stay.

Try your best each day.

E ach of us will be silent during lessons, work times, fire drills, in the hallways and at Mass.

Thank You For Following The Indoor Rules!

Help by stepping up to hold the door for others.

When you walk in the halls, stay to the right side single file.

Walk quietly in the halls at all times with your hands at your sides.

Be courteous to other classes studying while in the halls.

Be polite to adults you meet. Say hello to priests. Let teachers have the right- of-way when trying to pass.

After recess and and special classes,we need to proceed in silence.

Hang up sweater or coat. Red sweaters are on your body or in your backpack.

Be sure all your belongs are put away to help make our halls safe.

.Indoor recess time is for playing, but never running.

Be in Charge of Yourself!

Team Management System

Teams also have a chance to work together to earn a reward. Teams are rewarded by working together, following directions, and showing exemplary behavior. All teams begin their day with 10 unifix cubes on the team captain's desk. Teams who are not showing exemplary behavior have to remove a cube and place it in the cube basket. The good news is if teams lose a cube, they can work really hard to try to earn it back! Teams who keep all 10 cubes receive a point at the end of the day. Rewards are given when the following points are earned:

10 points = read with a friend during DEAR time.

20 points= popcorn treat during writer's workshop.

30 points = sit anywhere in the room to do your work for the day.

40 points = one night of NO HOMEWORK.
