The Some Tips About Illness

Wash your hands often to help stay healthy.

If your child has a fever or truly does not feel well, please do not send them to school. Students do not perform well in school when they are physically ill; He/she also risks other students getting sick if he/she is contagious. I would also like to add a note on how important it is that your child is at school as much as possible. Every day at school is important. It is you and your child's responsibility to arrange making up any assignments/tests missed. Please note that I am not required to give make-up work or allow work to be made up for students that do not have an excused absence.

~ It's better to be safe than sorry.

If your child is feeling badly and is just not themselves or has a temperature,  please keep them home.  We will miss them very much, but there's nothing we can do for them at school.

~ Remember to look at the big picture.

We need healthy students and teachers to have a great learning day.  Some of our children are more prone to becoming ill than others.

~ If your child gets sick at school, we'll call.

Nobody likes being sick and away from the comfort of their own homes.  Please make sure you give us any updates on phone numbers and emergency contacts.

~ When in doubt, just gives us a call!

I'll be glad to talk with you about what's going on so we can work on it together.  I'll do everything I can to make sure as little learning is missed as possible in my room!

Welcome to the Absent Students section of our class website. Hopefully you are able to find what you need in the event that your child is absent.

Here is a list of what I recommend you do in the event ypir child is absent.:

<>

1. Please contact the office of the school alert the secretary about the absence and to inform them if you need to pick up any work. Once the school day gets going, I am very busy. If the office does not notify me before lunch to gather work 11:00 I will not have adequate time to get your child's missing assignments together.  I won't be able to stop teaching  to assist you.  During  my  planning time or lunch  time  when I don't have duty, I  can   speak  with you.

<>2. Please email me to let me know about the absence as soon as possible for instance if you know the night before, or if it is a planned absence. We will make arrangements to have your child make up assignments. I try to update student information weekly.

<>3.Students should be able to find their spelling words under "spelling".. We have a spelling  test to complete every Friday, so that is something they can alway study. Also, there should be information about what is taking place in some of the other classes under "Homework for Tonight" or under each week's news . <>
4. Now some of our books are online. Students may be able to complete some of their work from home without making a trip to the school. Students can look at our relition, math, science, and social studies books at under "Our Curriculum"  to view these,
