Act of Faith
O my God, I firmly believe that You are one God in three Divine Persons, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.I believe that your Divine Son became man and died for our sins, and He will come to judge the living and the dead.   I believe these and all truths which the holy Catholic Church teaches, because You hath revealed them Who can deceive nor be deceived. Amen.

Act of Hope

  O my God, relying on Your infinite goodness and mercy, I hope to obtain  pardon of my sins, the help of Your grace, and life everlasting, through the merits of  Jesus Christ, my Lord and Redeemer. Amen.

Act of Love

O my God, I love You above all things, with my heart and soul because You are all-good and deserving of all my love. I love my neighbor as myself for love of You. I pardon those who have injured me and ask pardon of all those I have injured. Amen.

The Apostle's Creed I believe in God, the Father Almighty, Creator of heaven and earth: and in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord; who was conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate was crucified, died and was buried. He descended to the dead;  He ascended into heaven and sits at the right hand of the Father. He will come again judge the living and the dead. I believe in theHoly Spirit;  the holy Catholic church the communion of saintsthe forgiveness of sins, the resurection of the body, and life everlasting. Amen.

    Hail Holy Queen

Hail Holy Queen, Mother of Mercy,

our life, our sweetness and our hope!

to thee do we cry, poor banished children of Eve;

 To thee do we send up our sighs, mourning and weeping in this vale of tears.
Turn then, most gracious advocate, thine eyes of mercy toward us; and after this our exhile, show unto us the blessed fruit of your womb, Jesus. O clement, O loving, sweet Virgin Mary! Pray for us, O Holy Mother of God… that we may be worthy of the promises of Christ
! Amen.

During the year, the students will have the opportunity to receive the sacrament of Reconciliation.  Taking care of one another and making good choices will be part of our preparation.

Morning Offering
O Jesus, through the Immaculate Heart of Mary,

I offer you my prayers, works,
joys and sufferings of this day,
in union with the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
throughout the world.
I offer them for all the intentions of your Sacred Heart:
the salvation of souls, reparation for sin,
the reunion of all Christians.
I offer them for the intentions of our bishops
and of all Apostles of Prayer,
and in particular for those recommended

Sacramental Reconciliation, talking individually to the priest about our sins, is a very special way of asking God's forgiveness, and making and celebrating peace within our Christian community. Through the Sacrament of Reconciliation we receive personal assurance from the priest that Jesus forgives us, as well as thet grace to overcome our sins. Finally, the rite of Reconciliation is taught, as well as the Act of Contrition. uring the second grade year, the students are prepared for the Sacrament of Reconciliation. We learn this sacrament is a celebration of God's loving forgiveness. We learn that we have a responsibility to care for one another and make good choices. This is how we express our love for God. We learn about sin, and that reconciliation is something we do everyday, we make peace with one another and celebrate being friends again. We also learn that Jesus forgives us as soon as we are sorry. Please give your child your guidance and help answer their questions and concerns.

Preparing for the Sacrament:
Examination of Conscience

I think about what I have done since I last received the sacrament.
Have I hurt others by my unkindness? words? actions? thoughts?
Have I shown my love for God?
Have I been a good example to others?
Am I truly sorry for what I have done?

Rite of Reconciliation

1. Father will welcome me.
2. Father may read from the Bible.
3. I tell Father what I have done that is sinful and why I think I do it and how often I do it.
4. Father and I will talk about what I have told him.
5. Father will tell me something to do to help make up for my sins, and to show God that I am truly sorry. (penance)
6. Father will ask me to say an Act of Contrition.
7. Father will say a special prayer for me. When he does this he will place his hands over me and, in the name of God, will forgive me for my sins. (absolution)
8. When this is completed, Father will say, "Go in peace." I answer "Amen." Remember to also say, "Thank you, Father."

Act of Contrition
My God,
I am sorry for my sins with all my heart.
In choosing to do wrong
And failing to do good,
I have sinned against You
Whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance,
to sin no more,
and to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for us.
In His name, my God, have mercy.

The Divine Praises
Blessed be God. Blessed be His Holy Name. Blessed be Jesus Christ, true God and true Man. Blessed be the Name of Jesus. Blessed be His Most Sacred Heart. Blessed be Jesus in the Most Holy Sacrament of the Altar. Blessed be the great Mother of God, Mary most Holy. Blessed be her Holy and Immaculate Conception. Blessed be her Glorious Assumption. Blessed be the Name of Mary, Virgin and Mother. Blessed be St. Joseph, her most chaste spouse. Blessed be God in His Angels and in His Saints.

Lord, make me an instrument of your peace;

where there is hatred, let me sow love;

where there is injury, pardon;

where there is doubt, faith;

where there is despair, hope;

where there is darkness, light;

and where there is sadness, joy.

O Divine Master, grant that I may not so

much seek to be consoled as to console;

to be understood as to understand;

to be loved, as to love;

for it is in giving that we receive,

it is in pardoning that we are pardoned,

and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.
